I have known Trey Herrera for a bunch of years now. It’s always awesome to run into Trey at a park for a session. He is super good at bikes and always has a smile and a positive attitude about riding. Trey rides with the precision of a show rider after putting in years as part of the Yellow Designs Trick Team. This year he has made some moves by being signed to the Dartmoor North America team and he is headed to compete in Korea in just a few days. We caught up with Trey in between his park sessions and asked him a few questions. Check out the answers to those questions as well as a new joint edit with Trey and Oscar Marquez below…
How did you get started riding?
Originally, As a kid I wanted to ride moto. but moto was far too expensive. My dad bought me a bike instead and I rode it around pretending it was a dirt bike haha
What keeps you motivated to ride?
I think what keeps me motivated is the fact that I never wanna be the typical person who has the normal 9-5 job. Also Im really competitive and i feel i can always improve on whatever im doing.
What’s Your Preference? Street, Park, Dirt, DH, Vert, Flat?
park, dirt. i would love to learn to ride vert too
Which do you wish you were better at?
all of them! i wanna do the best i can do in whatever im riding.
Whats your favorite trick?
Decades, tailwhips, frontflips, flairs
Where’s your favorite place to ride?
woodward east, that place is awesome
Whats your favorite event?
I really liked the Jomopro Contest! lots of awesome riding and good vibes.
What’s been your best moment with your bike so far?
I dont just have one, but to name one I would say Salt lake city dew tour. I met a lot of my friends there and it changed my perspective on riding bmx and what it means to be pro.

What’s your favorite story from a road trip?
Going to the dirty east contest with 12 guys and 12 bikes, packed in a van for 21 hrs. The trip is one of my favorites for sure. We rode everything possible and went to 3 different states while on the trip and filmed for props 75.
What type of music do you ride to?
rap/hiphop trap or drum and bass
What do you when you are not riding?
spend a lot of time with my wife Viviana!
What’s your day job?
I work construction along side my pop!
What are your riding plans for the future?
Going to Korea at the end of the month
What’s the best advice you have ever received?
a dream without a plan is only a dream.
