I always had to travel somewhere far away to ride my bike during the winter time. We don’t have any good indoor bike spot here in Czech Republic. That’s why I decided to make my own home indoor spot.
The first thing I had to do was find a good spot where I could put everything I need for practice everything I wanted. I always knew that a foam pit would be absolutely essential; especially during winter.
I didn’t have a specific budget for this personal project, but when I found a place I knew I had to have it no matter what. After finding the right location I made a couple of phone calls to my friends for some help. One who has a transport company, one who’s making mattresses and several young local bikers who were able to help me make our future riding spot.
I’m really stoked we made it perfectly for the first time, but I also knew, we had to bring something more to ride. I wasn’t sure if I should build a spine or if a funbox would be better, but later I got really good rubber so we made a resi box. Our whole indoor park is only 22 x 11 meters big (small). But we put a lot of stuff in there including a foam pit, roll in, quarter and resi pit.
I am really happy to see young people riding my spot and also many of my friends from a whole Czech Republic coming here.. I am very busy this time, that’s why I always leave a key to make entry free for everyone who wants to ride while I am out of my hometown.
Next thing is that I have more mobile jumps now, that’s why I’m finding new bigger place and this time I wanna make it rideable for skate, roller and scooter as well.
We will see what future brings, but there is no more than have choice to go ride all day long…
